Troy Mitchell

Professor Troy E. Mitchell is an active duty Marine who has deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. In this capacity, he served as an Intelligence Officer, Sniper Platoon Commander, and Reconnaissance Platoon Commander under Title 10 and 50 missions. Dr. Mitchell has conducted Humanitarian Operations in support of Operation UNIFIED RESPONSE amongst the tragedy in Haiti and Operation RESTORE HOPE in Yemen. Recently, he served as a Personnel Exchange Officer to Australian forces based in Australia. Furthermore, Dr. Mitchell served in support of curriculum development in cyber operations and signals intelligence. Dr. Mitchell has published multiple times in the Marine Corps Gazette, Homeland Security Today, Small Wars Journal, The Strategy Bridge, Australia’s Land Power Forum, and INTSUM Magazine. Dr. Mitchell holds a Doctorate in Strategic Studies and Masters’ Degree in Terrorism and Counter-terrorism from Henley-Putnam University and Operational Art (Military History) from Marine Corps University, as well as an undergraduate degree in History from The Citadel.
