Dr. Susie Kuilan is a Military Police Brigadier General in the Army Reserve and currently serves as the Deputy Commanding General for Operation of the 200th Military Police Command, which is responsible for the nationwide operational control of most military police units in the Army Reserve. Her previous positions include the inaugural holder of the John Parker Chair for Reserve Component Studies at the US Army War College, Army Fellow for Chief of Staff of the Army’s Strategic Studies Group. She has served in multiple positions in the 102nd Division (Maneuver Support) as an Assistant Division Commander, Brigade Commander, Deputy Brigade Commander, Battalion Commander and Battalion Operations Officer.

As a civilian, Dr. Kuilan has held numerous instructor positions at various universities including Arkansas Tech University, University of Arkansas, and Northwestern State University (Louisiana). She has numerous publications primarily on southern literature and African-American literature.

Dr. Kuilan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications, a Master’s degree in English, a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies from the Army War College, and a Doctorate in English from Louisiana State University.
