Dr. Susan Lucas has extensive experience in teaching and administration in higher education, including government, community colleges, and for-profit as well as non-profit universities. She has worked at the University of Alabama, the Defense Language Institute, and community colleges in the Southwest. Her work has included teaching undergraduate courses in English, Humanities, and ESL, as well as graduate courses in Education and Higher Education Administration. Her administrative work has included extensive faculty development and training in pedagogy and instructional technology. She has also served administratively as a campus chief academic officer, director of distance education, and director of instructional technology. Dr. Lucas has been published in the area of Teaching and Learning, including in the Journal on Excellence in College Teaching, and has presented locally, nationally and international on a variety of educational topics. She also has doctoral concentrations in Foundations of Education and Educational Research.
