Mr. Haag is a retired Foreign Service Supervisory Special Agent with the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS), the law enforcement arm of the U.S. Department of State (USDOS), who is now an Examiner with the State Department, responsible for testing and assessing candidates for the Special Agent, Security Engineering Officer, and Diplomatic Courier positions. During his almost twenty-four years with DSS, Mr. Haag served as a Regional Security Officer at the American Embassies in Mexico City; Canberra, Australia; Kingston, Jamaica; and Budapest, Hungary. Domestic assignments included tours as a shift leader on the Secretary of State’s protective detail, mobile training team leader, counterintelligence division section chief for Eastern Europe, and Regional Director for DSS International Programs in the Western Hemisphere where he was responsible for more than 100 RSOs and 65 posts in the region. Prior to joining DSS, Mr. Haag worked for almost seven years with the FBI as an intelligence analyst and legal analyst.
