This course studies the interactions of the principal intelligence, counterterrorism, and protection agencies of the United States. This includes their organizational structures and select operational successes and failures. Students will review the structure and working philosophies of the major intelligence, counterterrorism, and protection agencies in the United States and her allies. The students will evaluate case studies of interaction between these organizations in order to identify the inherent strengths and weaknesses of their interaction.
Conduct research into how the United States Intelligence, Counterterrorism, and Dignitary protection agencies interact with one another.
Analyze relevant historical and contemporary case studies of the United States Intelligence, Counterterrorism, and Dignitary protection agencies and explain their ability or failure to operate as needed.
Examine notable United States Intelligence, Counterterrorism, and Dignitary Protection agencies’ successes and failures to determine best practices for operations techniques and case management strategies.
With an understanding of the structures, operational methods, and organizational cultures of the United States strategic security communities, the students will effectively evaluate an adversary security agency.
Synthesize and communicate strategic, operational, tactical, and cultural concepts to create an assessment of the strategic security community.
