INT 580 Leadership Analysis

Leadership analysis consists of examining leaders’ personal and professional lives to identify their ability to address the problems and challenges of the leadership position. Some leaders just manage their jobs, while others truly lead. This course teaches the  craft of analyzing leaders; how to review available biographical information in an effort to discern the leader’s personality traits and skills, and analyzing available information on the leader’s professional record in dealing with a variety of issues.

The course learning outcomes that you will demonstrate upon completion of this course are as follows:

Research the purpose of leadership analysis and the employment of open source materials to perform remote leadership analysis and profiling.

Define leadership factors, competencies,principles and their effects on organizational behaviors. Understand relevant leadership analytical models, such as operational coding, trait analysis, and modal personality model. 

Collaborate within the classroom to enhance student learning and application of leadership analysis principles, concepts and analytical methods.

Understand the components of a leadership analytical report. Employ effective written and oral communication to convey the results of leadership analyses.

Demonstrate, through effective communications, the ability to understand, integrate and apply general policies and principles to specific analyses, recommendations and conclusions in leadership analyses.
