INT 415 Chemical, Biological, Radiological & Nuclear Weapons

The course covers a variety of topics related to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) weapons. Upon completion of this course students will be able to list and describe the characteristics of CBRN agents (basic identification, symptoms, treatment), delivery systems (from individual to weapons of mass destruction), and the psychological aspects of CBRN weapons. Students will also be able to explain the strategic and tactical utility of each type of CBRN weapon in various kinds of conflict and summarize non-proliferation efforts from the Geneva Convention onward.

The course learning outcomes that you will demonstrate upon completion of this course are as follows:

Explain the history and academic foundations of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CRBN) weapons as they relate to strategic security.

Identify how CRBN weapons can be used and countermeasures that can be put in place to thwart potential attacks.

Relate real-world information and events to the strategic security components that would be involved with CRBN weapons.

Evaluate where and how CRBN weapons will evolve in the future.

Distinguish between CRBN weapon systems and conventional weapon systems and Discuss the main areas of CRBN activities and the professions in which they take place.
